Warranty: The STS-2 SCANNER and Equine Therapy Unit are warranted against manufacturer’s defects for two years by Sumerel Therapy Systems.
The STS-2 soft products (Poll Therapy Unit, Leg Therapy Unit, Spinal Therapy Unit, Universal Therapy Unit and The Controller) carry a 6-month warranty. Pelican Case carries a lifetime guarantee from Pelican Manufacturing, Inc. Damage to equipment caused by abuse or neglect is not covered, but will be repaired at a reasonable cost. Any defective unit can be returned to the STS-2 facility in Albuquerque, NM, for repair or replacement (at the discretion of STS-2). The unit will be repaired, usually within 24 hours and returned to the owner by the same shipping it was received, i.e. next day air shipments will be returned by next day air.
Rechargeable batteries are not covered by the 2-year warranty, but do have a 90-day warranty. As with all rechargeable batteries, they have a limited life expectancy, usually 2½ to 3 years. The life of a battery is dramatically effected by the way it is used, which is one reason the units have an auto-off feature. Keeping your batteries charged and NOT allowing them to go dead is your best assurance of long battery life. Running a battery dead or keeping it too low for long periods of time, will ruin the battery very quickly.
